Description
English: A view of the 1.5-mile-long penstocks of Linganamakki dam which forms a reservoir with a total storage capacity of 156,000 million cubic feet. This dam is part of the $210-million Sharavathi Hydroelectric Project, one of the largest in the world. Its construction has been made possible with large-scale assistance from the U.S. Agency for International Development (AID) to relieve India's power shortage.
