Description Lieutenant Nesham of the Royal Field Artillery who single-handedly continued to fire his gun at the Battle of Tweebosch after the rest of his crew were killed. When the Boers called upon him to surrender, Nesham replied "I prefer death to surrender", wherapon he was shot.
