English: A “Liegnitz Bomb” (German: Liegnitzer Bombe), a German gingerbread confection originally from the Silesian city of Liegnitz (now Legnica, Poland). Liegnitz Bombs are high round cakes with a filling of marzipan and candied fruit. This particular specimen was manufactured by a Hamburg patisserie. It measures 45 mm tall and 75 mm in diameter.
Deutsch: Eine „Liegnitzer Bombe“, eine Lebkuchenspezialität ursprünglich aus Liegnitz in Niederschlesien (heute Legnica, Polen). Liegnitzer Bomben sind hohe runde Kuchen mit einer Füllung aus Marzipan und kandierten Früchten. Das abgebildete Exemplar stammt von der „kleinen Konditorei“ in Hamburg und mißt 45 mm in der Höhe und 75 mm im Durchmesser.
