English: 25 August 1891. The entrance to the International Electrotechnical Exhibition in Frankfurt am Main. Equipped with 1000 lightbulbs, the exhibition had its power supplied over a 175 km transmission line from Lauffen am Neckar. This was a first ever long-distance, high-power transmission of three phase power. In the background, an artificial waterfall can be seen.
