'LNWR 2-2-2-0 Dreadnought Class No 507 'Marchioness of Stafford' stands at Bulkington station's down platform circa 1900. Built by Crewe works in March 1885 No 507 was one of FW Webb's experimental compounds it was exhibited at the 1885 Inventions Exhibition at South Kensington. It was given the running number 2798, where it gained a Gold Medal. A replica of the medal was cast into the plate carrying the number which it carried until it was withdrawn during July 1905.'
