Description
English: The Korps Pandoeren (formerly Korps Bastaart Hottenotten) was raised by the Dutch East India Company in May 1781 to assist in the defence of the Cape Colony during the Fourth Anglo-Dutch War (1780-1784). Although the korps was disbanded following the British 1795 occupation of the Cape similar light infantry served in Dutch ranks during the Battle of Blaawberg in 1814. On display at the Castle of Good Hope, Cape Town.
