English: Canadian Expeditionary Force set up Khaki University, teaching 1st and 2nd year courses in 1917 – 1919 in England and France. The term was used again for educational programs for veterans after WWII to keep them occupied while waiting to be repatriated to Canada. This photo was taken at Devonshire House, Piccadilly, London in October 1945. Devonshire House was an office building on the site of the Duke of Devonshire's family estate in Mayfair and was used by the British War Damage Commission during the war.
