Description
English: A lokey with a load of logs in Kaniere Forest. The men in the photo are Ivan Randall on the left and Bill Muir, who was the driver, on the right.

Kanieri - Hokitika Sawmills was just on the eastern outskirts of Hokitika between the road to Kaniere township and the Hokitika River. The mill tram connected to the NZ Railways system via Gibson Quay. Part of this section is now used by Westland Milk Products for railing of their products.

The sawmill burnt down on the 8th of May 1966.
