Description
English: Many imperial abbeys such as Corvey had a kaisersaal, a lavish ceremonial hall replete with imperial iconography intended to show their attachment to the Emperor, their only overlord. The abbot of Corvey was a Prince of the Empire with seat and vote in the Reichstag. Postcard published circa 1900-1910.
