Presiden Jokowi menegaskan bahwa wilayah Kepulauan Natuna merupakan teritorial Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia. Kepulauan tersebut beserta perairannya secara administratif termasuk dalam Kabupaten Natuna, Provinsi Kepulauan Riau, yang menjadi kabupaten terluar di sebelah utara. Turut mendampingi Presiden Jokowi dalam kesempatan tersebut adalah Menteri Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral Arifin Tasrif, Menteri Kelautan dan Perikanan Edhy Prabowo, Kepala Staf Kepresidenan Moeldoko, dan Panglima TNI Marsekal Hadi Tjahjanto. English: President Joko Widodo met with hundreds of fishermen at the Selat Lampa Integrated Marine and Fisheries Centre (SKPT), Selat Lampa Natuna Fishing Port, Natuna Regency, Riau Islands Province on Wednesday, 8 January 2020. President Jokowi emphasised that the Natuna Islands are the territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. The islands and their waters are administratively included in Natuna Regency, Riau Islands Province, which is the outermost regency in the north. Also accompanying President Jokowi on the occasion were Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, and TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto.
