DescriptionItaly-0048 - Altar of Santa Maria del Carmelo in Traspontina (5117746441).jpg
The beautiful altar was erected as a monument to the beautiful image of Italian-Byzantine Madonna who, according to ancient tradition, one that brought the Carmelites in Europe at the time of their transmigration from Mount Caramel in the first half of the century. XIII. XIII.
The current image that is contemplated under the rich canopy is a copy of late (perhaps of the century. XIX) of the original, almost certainly lost during the period of the Roman Republic (1798-1799).
The altar frontal depicting a cloth inlaid with agate and precious marbles, was run by Master Joseph Marini, the great crown made of wood covered with gilded copper is Padreda Carlo, while the angels of putty that hold the crown have to listen to Leonardo which they belong, apparently, even the two angels in the middle of the marble ciborium.
The altar is attached to the walls of the presbytery in Jasper with two doors, the sides of which rest two pairs of statues made in 1695 on the right, St. Elijah and Elisha S.; left, S. Angelo martire e S. Martyr and St. Angelo Alberto degli Abati.
