Summary

Description
English: Isolated phase bus during installation at the Bui hydroelectric dam, Ghana. Segments of bus are temporarily supported by scaffolding. The interior aluminum conductors are temporarily braced for installation. The inner conductors and outer enclosure will be welded to form a unit. Inside the enclosure, the inner conductor is supported by polymer insulators; hatches for access to the insulators are visible on each segment. Each phase is separated. This bus will carry over 6000 amperes at full load; similar busses can be rated for tens of thousands of amperes.
