Description
English: The Industrial Hygiene Laboratory at the U.S. National Institute of Health (NIH) in Washington, DC. This was Dr. Frederick H. Goldman’s laboratory. The purpose of the laboratory, would have been to analyze samples from industrial hygiene investigations, and to develop analysis methods. Goldman, and Morris B. Jacobs, authored, Chemical Methods in Industrial Hygiene, 1953. In this photograph, Dr. Goldman was in the background on the far left.

Additional Information: The NIOSH Historic Photo Collection began as the picture file of the Industrial Hygiene Division of the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS), c. 1930-1960. It is a unique collection of mid-20th Century images of American workers and workplaces and documents occupational safety and health research of that era. The collection consists of approximately 1,000 original photographs and schematic drawings.
