English: Te Riviere Castle or Mathenesse before 1574
Nederlands: Huis Mathenesse of het Huis te Riviere voor 1574, gezien van de Broersvest. Op de voorgrond de stadsvest die door een aarden walletje van de slotgracht is gescheiden, die door een duikersluis en een afsluitbare doorvaartpoort verbinding heeft met de vest. De muur aan de westzijde wordt bekroond door drie gelijkvormige trapgevels. Aan de rechterzijvleugel bevindt zich een houten slotbrug naar stenen poortgebouw en bijgebouwen. De kap van de donjon steekt boven het geheel uit. In de slotgracht een zwaan en andere watervogels, rondom bosschage. Op het bijgebouw een ooivaarsnest.

Olieverf op paneel van een onbekende kunstenaar. Afmetingen 59x81,5 cm. Collectie Stedelijk Museum Schiedam Opmerking:
