Summary

Description Aerial view, with north towards the top, of the Hood Canal Bridge's west draw-span base. When the bridge needs to be opened for marine traffic, the section of roadway in the center of this photo is raised up, hydraulically, and the section of floating roadway in the righthand third of the photo retracts underneath the raised portion.
