English: Plaque erected in 1909 by The Shakespeare Reading Society of London and Subscribers in The United Kingdom and India in Park Street London SE1.
This plaque was originally fixed to the wall of the brewery Barclay, Perkins & Co. It was unveiled by Herbert Beerbohm Tree who was President of the Shakespeare Reading Society which erected the plaque. It is understood that The London Illustrated News of 9 October 1909, CXXXV, 500, contains photographs of this tablet when first erected. The plaque was re-erected after the Anchor Brewery was demolished in 1981. Read the ILN
