English: Hedon Haven, south of Hedon, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. This is the course of the former navigable Hedon Haven (canal) near Sheriff Highway. It was finally filled in in the late 1970s after silting up very badly along its course from the River Humber some two miles away to the west. Recently, ambitious plans have been put forward to re-open the Haven as a viable waterway again at a cost of £17M+! Unfortunately, since it was filled in, Hedon Bypass was built across the former course of the Haven, and this would form a very difficult barrier to overcome for re-instatement of this waterway.
