English: Woodcut print by Suzuki Harunobu : egoyomi, aiban size, showing a mitate (parody) of Kanzan and Jittoku, the well known Chinese Buddhist monks (Jittoku is easily recognized, as he always holds a broomstick).
Français : Kanzan et Jittoku sur fond marbré. Xylographie, 1765-1770. Estampe polychrome ou de brocard, 31,5 x 20 cm., calendrier (egoyomi), taille aiban: 31,5 x 20 cm., montrant une parodie (mitate) de Kanzan et Jittoku. Deux moines bouddhistes chinois, ermites et vagabonds : Hanshan et Shide. Jittoku/Shide est facilement reconnaissable, il tient toujours un balai. Dans cette parodie, un jeune homme ("Kanzan") déroule un emaki (rouleau) de calligraphies sous les yeux d'une jeune fille ("Jittoku"). Musée national des arts asiatiques - Guimet.

Other versions Estampe egoyomi, nishiki-e de format chûban, de Suzuki Harunobu. Cet egoyomi contient une mitate (parodie) évoquant les deux moines bouddhistes fameux, Kanzan et Jittoku (connus en Chine comme Hanshan et Shide)

La mitate est assez facilement compréhensible, puisque Kanzan tient à la main un rouleau calligraphié (allusion à ses activités de poète), et que Jittoku est toujours représenté avec un balai. Bien entendu, les deux moines sont représentés ici sous la forme de jeunes gens, avec Jittoku en bijin (jolie fille). Un exemplaire de cette estampe se trouve au musée Guimet (mais il est rogné). L'arrière-plan, très particulier, est digne d'attention.
