English: Two Gresley J50 0-6-0Ts at Harringay West station
View northward on the ECML. The great Ferme Park Yards are just ahead and the engines have probably come over the flyover between the Down and Up Yards in order to go onto Hornsey Locomotive Depot, from which many of these (relatively modern) 0-6-0Ts worked in the 1950s. Leading is No. 68896 (one of the earlier GNR J23 series with smaller boiler) built 3/14 as No. 163, became LNER J51/1 No. 3163 (class J50/1 when given a larger boiler), No. 8896 in 1946, withdrawn 8/61); behind is No. 68975 (a much younger engine, built 3/30 as LNER J50/3 No. 2792, No. 8975 from 1946, withdrawn 7/61). On the left is Harringay Up Goods Box, behind the footbridge that crossed all lines and gave access to the island platforms.
