Norsk bokmål: Med dette maleriet vant Gude den store gullmedalje på Den akademiske kunstutstilling i Berlin i 1860. Det ble kjøpt av Fredrik Vilhelm IV av Preussen samme år. Maleriet fantes også i en annen versjon som var eid av keiser Napoleon III av Frankrike, men det ble ødelagt i en brann.
English: The painting was exhibited in 1860 and bought by Frederick William IV of Prussia. It existed in another version owned by Napoleon III, but was later lost in a fire.
