Description
English: Hacı Beşir Ağa mosque. He was a paşa that was born in Africa and grew up here, reaching a high position as Chief of the Black Eunuchs under Sultan Mahmut I. It was being restored in 2007. Built in 1745 the complex has a mosque, a medrese and a dervish monastery as well as a drinking fountain, where drinks might be handed out too (sebil).
