Summary

Description
English: Calypso, PW7972.
Hand-coloured. Calypso was run down and sunk during a gale in the Atlantic by a merchantman she was escorting in convoy, while returning from Jamaica on 30th July 1803. The Calypso is here shown in heavy seas together with other vessels, although it is unclear whether or not this is a depiction of her final moments.
