Ribes thacherianum—Santa Cruz Island gooseberry. Included in the CNPS Inventory of Rare and Endangered Plants on list 1B.2 (rare, threatened, or endangered in CA and elsewhere). Endemic to Santa Cruz Island only. The story goes that students of the Thacher School of Ojai, CA. brought this species to the attention of Willis Jepson, who named it in the school's honor.
