Daten Lage: Wallis Fläche 0.555 km² maximale Tiefe: 66 m Zuflüsse: Diverse Bergbäche Abfluss: Ägine Höhe über Meer: 2`386 m Orte am Ufer: keine Besonderheiten: Höchstgelegener Stausee der Schweiz
Zu erreichen ist der Stausee nur über den Nufenenpass. Von der Passhöhe führt ein ca. 2 km langes Bergsträsschen in südlicher Richtung zum Stausee. Im Süden führt der Griespass nach Italien.
Fertiggestellt wurde die Staumauer Gries im Jahre 1965.
