Summary

Description

English: Old triangular boundary stone made of grey basalt on today's border point of Bad Homburg, Oberursel-Oberstedten and Schmitten. The so-called "Dreimärker" from 1829 (year of setting) marked the boundaries of the following three properties:

1. the forests of Schmitten in the Duchy of Nassau (HN)
2. the forests of Praunheim (today Frankfurt) in the Electorate of Hesse-Kassel (KH)
3. the forests of Nieder-Eschbach (today Frankfurt) in the Grand Duchy of Hesse Darmstadt (GH NE)

The boundary stone stands on the Limes near the Limes fort "Altes Jagthaus" (old hunting lodge), not far from the Sandplacken pass at the mountain Großer Feldberg in the Taunus mountain range.
