DescriptionGreat Court Run strike time varying with air density.jpg
English: In the time it takes for the Great Court clock in Trinity College Cambridge to strike noon (or midnight) runners try to complete a circuit of Great Court - this is the Great Court Run. This graph shows how the duration of the striking of 12 varies depending on air density (temperature, pressure and humidity). Other effects are due to the length of the cable on the driving weights, and whether the driving cable is on the upper or lower layer on the winding drum.
