English: (Original Caption) Dewey Accepts Nomination. Philadelphia: Gov. Thomas E. Dewey thanks the delegates in Convention Hall for "the highest honor" they can bestow, the nomination for President of the United States, in his acceptance speech, June 24th. He vowed that he is "unfettered by a single obligation or promise to any living person," and pledged the implementation of the Republican platform adopted by the convention.
