English: This photograph of the Scioto Country Club was taken during a golf tournament held on October 5, 1918, which raised money for the Franklin County War Chest. Citizens bid for the privilege to serve as walking caddies for the nationally known foursome of Chick Evans, National Open champion, and Elaine Rosenthal, Western Women's champion, playing against Bobby Jones, Southern champion, and Alexa Sterling, Women's Open champion. This event raised more than $6,500. The "winning" caddies were: Mr. Melancon, who bid $1,525 to caddy for Bobby Jones; Miss Cornelia Lanman, bidding $700 to caddy for Chick Evans; John Deshler, who bid $800 to caddy for Miss Stirling; and the former governor of Pennsylvania, John K. Tener, bidding $800 to caddy for Miss Rosenthal.
