Summary

Description
English: Locomotive 'Iron Duke' hauling iron ore wagons on the Cadia Mine Railway in 1920s. The locomotive was owned by G & C Hoskins, and later by its successor companies Hoskins Iron & Steel and Australian Iron and Steel. It was last used at Port Kembla. There is a wagon on a separate rail track to the right, which probably indicates that this photograph is taken at one of the terminal points on the line, either at Cadia or at the exchange sidings at Spring Hill, or at the staging siding known as 'The Summit'. This image was scanned from an original glass plate or negative, kindly provided by the Australian Railway Historical Society, New South Wales Division (identifier ARHSBox058_1562)
