c/n 733682.
This Fw190 was originally part of a Mistel S3B combination, sitting on a Junkers Ju88H. Captured at Tirstrup in Denmark, it was ferried to Schleswig, Germany in July 1945. The Ju88 was then scrapped, while the Fw190 transferred to the RAF as 'A.M.75' and was then delivered to Farnborough in November 1945.
By September of 1946 it was on display at RAF Cranwell where it remained until 1960. It was then stored, first at RAF Bicester and later at Biggin Hill, before going on display in London's Imperial War Museum in 1964. In 1986 it moved to Duxford for restoration, returning to Lambeth in 1989. It was removed in 2012 when Lambeth was closed for refurbishment and has now passed to its true owner, the RAF Museum.
It is now on display in the ‘War in the Air’ hangar.
