English: This image shows an outcrop of the Flechado Formation at its type section in the Rio Pueblo Valley, New Mexico, USA. The Flechado Formation is a lower to middle Pennsylvanian formation. It is so completely indurated at its type section that it can be difficult to distinguish from nearby Precambrian quartzites.
