Description
English: Footwall scarp of Fairview Fault, Dixie Valley, Nevada. Footwall rock (pinkish orange) is hydrothermally altered felsic volcanic rock with silica-cemented breccias. Hanging wall alluvium is visible in lower left of photo as unconsolidated sediment. Fault surface is white to yellow to orange streaky shiny mirrored surface with prominent grooves aligned down-dip on the fault surface.
