Summary

Description
English: The ForwArd Search ExpeRiment at the LHC (FASER) sits in the side tunnel TI12, 480 m downstream from the ATLAS detector at point 1 during LS2. The TI12 tunnel was formerly used to connect the Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) to the Large Electron–Positron (LEP) Collider at CERN’s Meyrin site, but currently this part of tunnel is empty and unused. FASER is one of the eight particle physics experiments at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. It is designed to both search for new light and weakly coupled elementary particles, and to study the interactions of high-energy neutrinos.
