Description
English: Stolperstein (a cobblestone-sized commemorative plaque) for Else Hirsch, a Jewish teacher, who organized 10 children's transports out of Nazi Germany. She was arrested by the Nazis and deported to the Riga ghetto in 1942, where she perished. The plaque is located at Huestraße 28 in downtown Bochum, Germany and reads "Else Hirsch, b. 1889, taught here 1927-1941. Deported 1942. Murdered in Riga."
