DescriptionDunipace House Dovecot April 2006 - geograph.org.uk - 435893.jpg
English: Dunipace House Dovecot April 2006 This remnant of an old Dunipace mansion house was converted (before 1794) to a Dovecot and used by the new Dunipace House about 100 metres due west (demolished in the 1940s). More information can be found in the Falkirk Local History Society periodical, Calatria Volume 1, Autumn 1991 and available through most local (central Scotland) libraries. The article is on Doocots (dovecots) in Falkirk District. The roof was a circular slated structure finished at the top with a decorative lantern through which the doves could enter. The structure is a Category B Listed Building in very poor condition.

Tower may have been something to do with birds, specifically Pigeons or Doves (this is the opinion of a local man who used to care for the nearby, new, Hills of Dunipace Cemetery).
Inside is hollow with three rows of stone compartments at the top. There are small horizontal stone slabs jutting at random from the inside walls. These look like steps but may have been roosting platforms.
There was no sign of any roof when the photograph was taken.
The North East wall has partially collapsed and the stones lie in a moss covered pile at the base, inside and out. Above the collapsed area looks rather unstable
There has obviously been a building attached to the South side where the edge of old stonework is visible with what looks like an arched fireplace at the base.
