St. Peter's Church (Church of Ireland), Peter's Hill, Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland
English: Monument in memory of Mary Hannah, wife of George Smith Esq.re, and their children George and Emily, who lost their lifes when the steam vessel Manchester was wrecked on 16 June 1844 on a sandbank close to Cuxhaven. Inscription:
Sacred to the memory
of
MARY HANNAH
the beloved wife of S.t George Smith Esq.re Of Green Hills County of Louth
Also of
S.T GEORGE, AND EMILY,
children of the above.
They were lost near Cuxhaven, in the Manchester
steam vessel, bound from Hull to Hambro'
on the 16th of June 1844, on which eventful
night, every individual on board perished their
spirits returned to him who gave
them and their mortal remains are interred
in a vault near this place.
