Description

This is an image of Dr James Dick and Jill Cook treating patients at the United Mission to Nepal medical dispensary in Okhaldhunga, in east Nepal, in the early 1960s. The dispensary was opened in 1961. The photo is annotated as follows: “Early in the morning the patients and their friends are waiting in the yard for care. In this beginning stage the work is done in a rented village house not at all suitable for the job, but usable. Jimmy Dick and Jill Cook do what they can out in the warm sun before taking patients in for treatment.”
