DescriptionDisused, but still fairly pristine (14265405650).jpg
Another look at the disused, yet pristine station. Trains used to run from here till the Thai border (Poipet, I think). The last train ran around 2007. There have been talks off and on of reviving the railway upto Thailand, but all this has remained on paper. Australia's Toll Railways Corpn. had taken it upon itself to revive the entire railway network in Cambodia but has had to face difficulties in funding, lack of will and sometimes corruption in Cambodia. They did re-open a line far away from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville, but that too is not open for passenger traffic now. (Battambang, Cambodia, Apr. 2014)
