Summary

Description
English: Derwent Mouth. This is the confluence between the River Trent and one of its major tributaries, the Derwent. This is also the point at which the builders of the Trent and Mersey Canal decided to terminate their navigation (indicated by the green sign), creating a waterways crossroads. The Derwent, however, is not navigable and craft can only progress a little further up the Trent as far as Cavendish Bridge.
