Raja Borneo (Brunei?) sekitar tahun 1601. Teks dalam bahasa Perancis mencatatkan bahawa perahu tersebut mempunyai 2 laras meriam. Bendera Di. Raja dipasang di atas tiang kapal menandakan kehadiran Sultan. Terdapat bumbung melindungi yang meja persidangan. Di atas meja terdapat hiasan diperbuat dari perak. Ketika itu perahu tersebut juga dinaiki seorang saudagar Cina dari "Patana" (Siam/Patani?) yang rapat dengan keluarga Di. Raja. Juga dicatat sang pelukis telah diberi amaran oleh jurupandu kapal pelukis supaya tidak menghampiri perahu Di. Raja tersebut kerana mereka mungkin menyerang.
English: The sketch is entitled "La nef ou prau Royale de Borneo", which was a Royal Borneo (Brunei) ship or boat around 1601. The text in French records that the boat had 2 barrel guns. The Royal flag was mounted on the mast of a ship signifying the presence of the Sultan. There is a roof protecting the conference table. On the table was a decoration made of silver. At that time the boat was also attended by a Chinese merchant in Patana (Pattani) in Southern Thailand who were closely associated with the Royal family. It is also noted that the painter had been warned by the ship's guide to avoid approaching the Royal boat as they might have attacked. |
