English: The Diptych “The Gatherings” by David Stern (who witnessed 9/11 at his studio at 52 Greene) takes us back to the days following 9/11, the absence of a mourning ritual, the confusion and stunned solemnity of these days when we found comfort only in one another; a community of survivors.
