Description
English: Dagenham Lake about 1860. Hand-coloured version of public domain engraving (from Smiles, Samuel, "Lives of the Engineers", London 1861). Dagenham Lake was left after the repair of Dagenham Breach in 1719. It became a resort for anglers. Thames shipping can be seen behind the repaired river wall.
