Object history
Deutsch: Mit Urkunde des Preußischen Ministers des Innern vom 26. Oktober 1934 ist der Gemeinde Marienheide das Führen eines Wappens genehmigt worden.
Die Rodehacken entstammen dem Siegel der katholischen Kirchengemeinde. Die silberne Rose entstammt dem Wappen der Grafen von Möllenbeck, die vom 15. bis 17. Jahrhundert im heutigen Ortsteil Müllenbach lebten. Der untere Teil zeigt einen abgewandelten Bergischen Löwen, der auf die frühere Zugehörigkeit zum Herzogtum Berg hinweist.
English: The arms were granted on October 26, 1934. The arms show in the lower part the lion of the Counts of Berg as the village historically belonged to Berg. The upper part is a combination of the seals of the catholic church in the municipality and the arms of the counts of Moellenbeck. The Catholic seal showed the two hoes and the arms of the Counts shows the rose.[1]
