Object history
Deutsch: Auf Marksteinen und in einem Siegel des 18. Jahrhunderts ist ein S-förmiges Fleckenzeichen belegt, das in allerlei Abwandlungen teils liegend, teils aufrecht dargestellt wurde. In aufrechter Stellung, die Mitte mit einem Querstrich versehen, zierte dieses Zeichen die Gemeindedienstsiegel bis 1954. Das jetzige, durch Gemeinderatsbeschluss vom 2. Juni 1954 festgelegte und von der Landesregierung am 18./19. Oktober 1954 zusammen mit der Flagge verliehene Wappen zeigt unter der württembergischen Hirschstange einen Abtsstab als Hinweis auf das Kloster Murrhardt, dem einst die Januariuskirche in Erdmannhausen gehört hatte.
