Summary

Description
English: Crawley Court. Originally built by the ITA (Independent Television Authority), which later became the IBA, then National Transcommunications Limited (NTL), this outpost was one of the main UK test and research centres that helped develop everything from teletext (the ITV text service Oracle was invented here, along with contributions to stereo audio TVC transmission (NICAM) and MAC digital picture encoding. The site also has an extensive dish farm, capable of receiving a myriad of satellite signals and passing them on to London and the (then) ITV network.
