Born Bridget Hore-Ruthven, 11th Lady Ruthven of Freeland, the she was later known as The Countess of Carlisle (1918-1947), Lady Monckton (1947-1957), The Viscountess Monckton of Brenchley (1957-1965), and The Dowager Viscountess Monckton of Brenchley (1965-1982).
