Description
English: Flame test (cobalt(II) chloride heated on copper wire). The center was a narrow, tall orange flame. Outside that was a blue flame. Outside that was a bright green flame, similar to that of copper. The cobalt chloride reacted with the copper wire that it was heated on. This makes volatile copper(II) chloride, which produces a green flame bottom of this page has conversation about whether this is cobalt or copper flame
