Português: Nas paredes com janelas, enormes tachos o de cobre onde se cozinhava a mistura de cevada maltada (germinada) e água que desciam, sem seguida para os andares sem janelas. Estes eram hermeticamente fechados e refrigerados onde os grandes tanques de fermentação, gigantescos para os padrões da época, garantiam que o fungo Saccharomyces cerevisiae transformasse essa sopa em milhares de litros/dia de cerveja (pasteurizada) e chopp (cru). Aqui também se captava o gás carbônico, um subproduto da fermentação, que seria usado na fabricação de refrigerantes
