DescriptionCherry Blossoms of Gobancho, Tokyo, c1910 (8372629679).jpg
English: "Cherry Blossoms of Gobancho, Tokyo". The subtitle says: "五番町の桜 (麹町区にあり英国大使館前通、宮城北丸の西に隣す)": "In Koujimachi Ward, on British Embassy Front Road, west adjoining the Palace North Circle."
The embassy hasn't moved, but the road is now called Inner Moat Road. Gobancho (Fifth District) is now Ichibancho, confusingly! From the Hanzomon subway station to Uchiboridoori (Inner Moat Road) and north to the bend in the moat was Gobancho.
It's clear in this 1900 map of Koujimachi Ward on the Rumsey Japanese historical maps site. The bridge in the center of the moat is Hanzomon. Look north of there.
The area is still very popular for cherry blossom viewing.
