Summary

Description
English: Chepstow - Gloucester Hole and Union Jack. Quoting from "The Town of Chepstow" by Ivor Waters : "This cave in the Tutshill cliff can be seen from Chepstow bridge and may be reached by boat at high tide. The entrance is about five feet six inches square, and runs in for about twelve feet. The cave was a natural opening in the limestone which was enlarged so that its greatest depth and greatest breadth are 27 feet, and its height at one point is 15 feet." It is supposed to date back to the mid 17C and supposedly has been used for storing gunpowder, dynamite and even tea. It can only be entered at high tide. The observant will notice a couple of pigeons in and next to the entrance.
